Commuter contrails

Commuter contrails, originally uploaded by miniopterus.

Well for the past month or so we see the contrails of jets flying between Melbourne and Sydney. Not sure how far away they are, must be at least 200 -300 kms away, judging by height. Today was an exception. Jets seemed to be conning just as they changed flight levels. Short trails then spread cross track. Leaves a rather interesting pattern in the predawn skies.

And who would this be passing by. Yep, it's Mike in the Jabiru. A lovely jigger as he would say.

It is a test of my panning skills to keep the Jab in focus. I really ought to have switched to Constant Focus, and shot as fast as possible. Full frame at 300mm. Not that he was low or anything

Richard in the whisper quiet Quixo PPG flew over to say hello. Some guidance via UHF radio, and he was nicely framed under glowing clouds.

Welcome to this first post. What better way to celebrate a RSS feed than with a picture of Cadel, and the story;

This is what happens when you fall out of your big boys bed at midnight. Clean break of your collarbone.

Poor Cadel got slowed up somewhat for the first few days. Mind you after five days he climbed a gate with both hands to better view some nearby Eastern Grey Kangaroos that visit our place.

He's off and away now, just a bit delicate around the break site.
